Walther Elias "Walt" Disney (1901-1966) is the real-life founder and later president of the Walt Disney Company.

Walt Disney was a billionaire who ran the Walt Disney Company in the 20th century. By the 1964 World's Fair, Walt was affiliated with Stark Industries founder Howard Stark and the two developed Epcot together.

Walt Disney appears in-front of a map of EPCOT on a screen in the Xandarian Outpost.

In the Collector's office are vintage maps of Disneyland from Walt's day. Rocket Raccoon also mentions seeing Disneyland from the top of the fortress.

Iron Man Experience[]

Walt makes a cameo in the exhibit on Howard Stark's history at the 1964 World's Fair. There is also an illustration of either Walt or Howard in-front of EPCOT in this same exhibition.[1]

Buena Vista Street[]

Buena Vista Street is based around being a romanticized version of Los Angeles which Walt Disney would have worked in during his early days, and which influenced much of his company's work.

The Buena Vista Bugle[]

Buena Vista Street is themed to being a neighbourhood in LA which Walt Disney lived in during the 1920s. He is often mentioned in the Buena Vista Bugle's stories.

  • The older Howard Stark from the MCU is inspired by Walt Disney while his younger depictions are inspired by Howard Hughes.
  • Walt Disney's legacy has been alluded to throughout the MCU.
    • In Iron Man, Stark Industries ran a charity event in the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
    • In Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ultron sings excerpts from, "I've got no strings" from Pinocchio.
    • Luis briefly whistles, "It's a Small World" from the attraction of the same name which debuted at the 1964 World's Fair.
    • In Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2, Star-Lord compares Yondu to looking like Mary Poppins when he uses his arrow to float from the sky. As Yondu is an alien with no knowledge of the Mary Poppins film, he takes this as a macho compliment and loudly announces, "I'm Mary Poppins y'all!" in celebration.
    • In a deleted scene from Thor: Ragnarok, Bruce Banner compares Thor to Dumbo.
    • In Agent Peggy Carter, it is revealed that Black Widow agents are taught perfect American accents through being shown Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) on a loop.
