Ultron is a robotic super-villain from Marvel Comics who is an arch-nemesis for the Avengers.
History[]
Background[]
Ultron was a robot created by Tony Stark with the purpose of protecting the world, only to almost instantly turn evil and build his own robotic bodies. Ultron wanted to save the world by eradicating humanity, trying to turn the nation of Sokovia into a makeshift meteor impactor to do so. Ultron also created a synthezoid son known as Vision who rebelled against its creator and joined the Avengers. Ultron's plot was foiled by the Avengers and Ultron was seemingly destroyed.
Mission: BREAKOUT![]
After being defeated by the Avengers, he was thought to have been destroyed. However, one sentry survived and made his way into the possession of Taneleer Tivan. The Ultron sentry was present during Rocket Raccoon's mass breakout of the fortress, meaning that the robot likely escaped captivity.
Quantum Encounter[]
Roughly around this time, Ultron created a new army of sentries who aimed to steal PYM Tech quantum machinery to further his Omnicidal goals. He found such technology aboard the Disney Wish cruise-ship where it was being utilized by Ant-Man and the Wasp. As Ultron's sentries fought Captain America, Wasp, Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel, Ultron confronted Ant-Man in his lab and fused with a Quantum Core's regulator as a power source.
Ant-Man proceeded to slow down Ultron behind an energy-shield barrier. Using F.R.I.D.AY., Ant-Man was able to weaponize the regulator against Ultron, shrinking him down to a quantum level and foiling his plans.
Appearances and allusions[]

The lights in Ultron's eyes flicker on and off, implying that the robot might have survived.

Trivia[]
- Ultron's appearance in the parks is inspired by his appearance in the movies and is significantly different than his more popular comic-book counterpart. In the comics he was created by mad Avengers member Dr. Hank Pym using Pym's own psychotic brain-waves, was abandoned by his creator, and wishes to dominate/eradicate humanity due to inheriting Pym's hatred for mankind while also trying to validate himself from the complexes which his abandonment left him with.
- Arnim Zola was once planned to be antagonist of Quantum Encounter rather than Ultron. Ultron was decided on instead as he hadn't appeared as an antagonist in the parks yet, and fit better with the technology theme.[2] Incidentally, Ultron is a character closely tied to Ant-Man in the comics as Ultron's comic-book counterpart was made by the original Ant-Man, using his brain-waves, and eventually merged with him.
