Mjölnir is an item from Norse Mythology and Marvel Comics. It is the Asgardian hammer of Thor Odinson and Dr. Jane Foster.
Description[]
Mjölnir is a battle hammer made from the Asgardian metal, Uru. The hammer is super-strong and invulnerable, along with having the ability to fly through the air and return to its user when summoned. Due to its traditional user, Thor, being the God of Thunder, the hammer also possesses electrokinetic powers and can be swung in a way that allows its user to fly. The hammer is enchanted by the Norse god king Odin so that only one who is worthy is capable of picking up the hammer.

Background[]
Mjölnir is an Uru hammer used by the Prince of Asgard, Thor. Due to Thor's adventures with his brother Loki and allies Lady Sif and the Warriors Three, Mjölnir became integrated as part of Norse human mythology. Due to Thor's arrogance and the machinations of Loki, their father Odin enchanted the hammer so that Thor would need to be worthy of wielding it. Following this, Odin banished Thor to Earth where he learned humility and humanity alongside Dr. Jane Foster and regained worthiness to fight Loki's robotic henchman The Destroyer, and foil Loki's schemes.
Thor[]
Thor used the hammer on many of his adventures, both on his own and while fighting alongside the likes of the Avengers. Such adventures including preventing Loki and the Chitauri from invading New York City around 2012, stopping Malekith the Accursed and the Dark Elves from using the Aether to cast the realms in darkness around 2013, foiling Ultron's plan to turn Sokovia into an apocalyptic impactor around 2015, and to fight the likes of Loki, HYDRA and the Red Skull during their attack on the Stark Expo in France.
The Mighty Thor[]
At one point, Thor's hammer was shattered, presumably by the goddess of death, Hela. Following this event, Dr. Jane Foster became worthy of wielding Mjölnir and used a magically reassembled version of it to become, "The Mighty Thor".
Appearances[]
Thor and the Mighty Thor can often be seen wielding Mjölnir. Jane's iteration of Thor wields the shattered Mjölnir. Thor's logo used throughout the parks is a depiction of Mjölnir. In Disneyland, Mjölnir had a pedestal which guests and Thor could attempt to remove it from.

- In the MCU, the first Captain America, Steve Rogers, is also worthy of the hammer. It is unknown if this is also true in the attraction's continuity.
