Jack Kirby (1917- 1994) is a legendary comic-book artist, editor and writer whose artwork defined the Marvel silver-age, nicknamed "The King" or, "The King of Comics" by fans of both Marvel and DC Comics. A Jewish World War II veteran, he also co-created the characters of Captain America, Bucky and Red Skull prior the founding of Marvel and before the US entered the war. In addition to this, he was co-creator of Marvel characters such as the Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom, the Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Black Panther, Devil Dinosaur, the X-Men, and the Avengers. Jack Kirby's work for DC Comics such as creating the New Gods and Darkseid would also inspire the Marvel characters of Thundra and Thanos, with his later Marvel creation the Eternals also being based on his New Gods.

Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT![]
Kirby is not referenced in this attraction however the art-style of the Collector's Fortress is very clearly inspired by his work in science-fiction comics. Surrounding the fortress is alien matter made in the pattern of his frequently used, "Kirby Krackle".
Hollywood Land[]
A sticker on the Daily Bugle's newspaper box outside the 15th Precinct says, "Hand of the King" and is surrounded by Jack Kirby's iconic, "Kirby Krackle".[2] The Hand of the King also has flyers on the surrounding brickwork.[3]
Walt Disney Presents Gallery[]
In 2019, the Walt Disney Presents Gallery hosted a show on Jack Kirby's work called, "The Man Behind Eternals" or, " The Eternals" – Jack Kirby's Cosmic Series".[4][5]
