Dr. Robert Bruce Banner AKA The Hulk or The Incredible Hulk is an anti-hero from Marvel Comics who first appeared The Incredible Hulk #1 in 1962. He is a scientist of gamma radiation who was mutated by his experiments, causing him to develop the destructive giant alter-ego of the Hulk which he turns into when angered.
History[]
Background[]
Dr. Bruce Banner was a brilliant scientist, specialized in Gamma radiation. Bruce worked with the US government in an attempt to recreate the late Dr. Abraham Erskine's super-soldier serum which created Captain America. Banner was exposed to a massive dose of gamma radiation during this time, causing him to develop a giant violent alter-ego which he mutated into whenever he got angry.
Because of this, Bruce had to go on the run from the military who hunted him as an outlaw. For a time, he worked at the soda company Pingo Doce.
Battle of New York[]
In 2011, Bruce was sought after by SHIELD to use his knowledge of gamma radiation to track down the Tesseract which was stolen by Loki. This incident escalated and lead to him fighting alongside the newly formed Avengers to fend off Loki and his army of Chitauri from invading New York City. After winning the conflict, the Avengers went to get Shawarma at a restaurant called, "Shawarma Palace".
Battle of Sokovia[]
Hulk was a notable Avengers member during the incident when Tony Stark's rogue AI Ultron attempted to destroy humanity by turning a city of Sokovia into a makeshift meteor-impactor. Ultron's plan was ultimately stopped by the Avengers and the resulting damage was devastating to the people of Sokovia.
Avengers Campus[]
Around 2016, Tony Stark began the Worldwide Avengers Initiative to train young superheroes across the world. One of these efforts came from making the Super Hero Academy, where Bruce Banner was hired as a professor of Gamma science.
By the late 2020s, Bruce Banner and the Hulk merged into a single awkward nerdy personality within the Hulk's body. Around this time, Hulk went on adventures in the Quantum Realm using Pym Tech, and accessed the campus while in a PYM based suit.

Scott will get texts from Bruce asking to pick up his order for him.[2]

Trivia[]
- Hulk is indirectly referenced in Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure where Howard Stark's Stark Motors facility was shown to use gamma radiation in their automobiles. Outside of the building is a gamma waste pipe next to a giant, green tree; inferring the tree went through a similar mutation to Banner as a result of the Gamma radiation.[5] Hulk's traditional sidekick Rick Jones is also identified as a member of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade.
- In the comics, the Hulk was a founding member of the Avengers but then left in issue #2 and primarily appeared as a solo character since. Also in the comics, he received his powers via a Gamma Bomb rather than failed super-soldier serum, said backstory being taken from the alternate, "Ultimate Universe" of Earth 1610.
