Figment is a character from the Epcot attraction Journey Into Imagination.
History[]
Background[]
Figment is a small dragon creature which was created by the inventor, "The Dreamfinder" who studied psionics relating to imagination. Figment was created through a combination of the Dreamfinder's own imagination and, "Sparks" harvested from different people's minds from his, "Dream-mobile". The child-like Figment ostensibly functioned as Dreamfinder's, "Left brain" as-well as sidekick.
Around 1982, Figment accompanied the Dreamfinder in his operations at the Imagination! Pavilion within the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow in Florida. The two studied psionics and neurology together and frequently used the Dream-Mobile to travel between EPCOT and the Realms of Imagination. For unknown reasons, these operations would cease and Dreamfinder became mysteriously absent.
The pavilion would be completely taken over by the science organization The Imagination Institute of unknown relationship to the Dreamfinder but which worked in the same field as he did. Here, Figment would frequently accompany the institute's stuffy chairman Dr. Nigel Channing who he would often terrorize and attempt to teach the Dreamfinder's ideology.
Imprisonment[]
By the late 2010s/2020s, Figment was captured and fell into the possession of the alien Taneleer Tivan AKA The Collector. Tivan bound Figment within a tank which he suspended from the ceiling within his teleporting fortress to be part of his collection of interstellar objects. Figment presumably escaped during the breakout lead by Rocket Raccoon, though he was visibly still contained during the blackout which Rocket briefly returned to while saving Groot.

A plushy of Figment appears in a piece of luggage within the star-port in the queue for this attraction. The stuffy has sometimes been opted out for one depicting Stitch from Lilo & Stitch (2002).
Trivia[]
- Both Journey Into Imagination and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind are both set in fictionalized depictions of EPCOT.
