Cosmo otherwise known as Cosmo the Spacedog is a dog from Marvel Comics who first appeared in Nova vol. 4 #8 in 2008.
History[]
Cosmo the Spacedog was a Golden Retriever used as a test-animal by Russia during the space-race. In the 1960s, Cosmo was sent into orbit only for his ship to drift off causing him to drift through a wormhole. At some point, Cosmo was exposed to cosmic-rays which heightened his intelligence to a reportedly dangerous level.
The wormhole brought Cosmo to the colony of Knowhere where he was captured by the Collector. Cosmo was kept in the Collector's fortress as, "TIVAN COLLECTION PIECE #12485" until Rocket Racoon and the Guardians of the Galaxy arranged a mass breakout. Cosmo escaped with Mantis alongside the guardians in their ship the Milano.
