Avengers: Infinity Defense is the name for a planned Avengers Campus attraction.
History[]
Backstory[]
This attraction would follow guests teaming up with superheroes across the Marvel multiverse to fight the villainous King Thanos, another reality's variant of the Mad Titan.
Development history[]
This attraction was announced for Disneyland at D23 in 2022.
Reception[]
While garnering some excitement, reception of the attraction's announcement was mixed-to-negative partly due to Marvel & Disney having had the Avengers Quinjet attraction stuck in development for years before this new ride's announcement. The announcement also came out after a large number of the Avengers Campus attractions already constructed being infamously poorly executed & received (I.E. WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure & Avengers Assemble: Flight Force) without notable updates to fix them; instead announcing a new attraction which could likely follow the same trends of issues.
The attraction was also announced both at a time of decreasing fan reception towards the Marvel Cinematic Universe (both from general audiences & fans), while following the, "Multiverse" motif which many of said works centred around.
Trivia[]
- One of the Spider-Man variants shown is a 2D version of Peter Parker from the upcoming Disney+ original animated series, Spider-Man: Freshman Year.
